Unitll recently Social Entrepreneurship was a brand new concept in China. However, now it is estimated that there are more than a 1000 social enterprises in the country, creating substantial impact across different regions and in almost all sectors.

Through the panel discussion, we hope to present our audience the key features of the evolving ecosystem of Chinese social enterprises, with an emphasis on stakeholders such as social entrepreneurs, academic researchers, government officials, venture philanthropists and capacity builders. How well they collaborate with each other is crucial for a bright future of Chinese social enterprises.

Looking back and reflecting on the past ten years of social enterprise development in China, the panelists will also provide insights of the following challenges and opportunities of the industry in the next decade:  How will impact investors shape the future of social enterprises? How can social enterprises work with the government to get things done and maximize social impact?  How can Chinese social enterprises learn from the best practices worldwide?  As many Chinese social enterprises are still in an early stage of development, what enabling factors can help them scale?
